I took this while travelling from Chicago to Florida to visit my Aunt. It was brisk that day and the overcast gave a hint of the somber times ahead. I cannot say that I really knew my Aunt except from the few times she visited and the stories told about her. Its funny how people you don't really know tend to be bigger, more exagerated than they really are. At least that's how my mind works.
There comes a time when you can't get to know people anymore and I'm afraid my window to know my Aunt has closed. I will have to rely on 2nd hand retellings of her, of her stories and adventures to fill in the gaps. They are not the same, of course not, but then again, I don't have a choice.
My aunt knowingly or unknowingly flicked a domino that fell the next, and the next, and the next, and finally led me to where I am today. I can't thank her anymore but hopefully I can show my appreciation to those she left behind.
Happy travels Auntie!
